May is our favorite month!
A month devoted to the bicycle. A month when we encourage everyone to rediscover their bikes and the sheer, simple joys that come from riding. We have a buffet of bike events to choose from, no matter what kind of bicyclist you are…or want to be!
Bike Month motivates new riders and inspires experienced cyclists. Every day this month, at least 11 million Americans will bicycle. Some will ride on major roads, many on neighborhood streets, others on dirt. A few will pedal 100 miles, while others will roll a few blocks.
One of the best things about bicycling is it’s something you can do today that will make a difference. Bicycling to work or the store means taking personal responsibility for improving your health and saving money, but also helps our community and our country. More people on bicycles mean safer streets, healthier people, cleaner air and more livable communities.
I Bike KNX Festival
Hundreds turned out for the I Bike KNX Festival and 12th annual Neighborhood Bike Ride on Sunday, May 6. It was a beautiful, warm day, and everyone appreciated the free ice cream from Cruze Farm Girls, and lemonade from Mast General Store. A huge thank you goes to Knoxville Police Department, City of Knoxville, and all the wonderful volunteers for making this event a success. See the photos >>
