The 7th annual Neighborhood Bike Ride was hailed by some participants as "the best ever!" (View photos >>) More than 100 people enjoyed perfect weather for a leisurely 11-mile bike ride through Parkridge, Burlington and Holston Hills. We visited Chilhowee Park, where the Zoomobile was waiting for us with animal crackers, an owl, a rabbit and a turtle, to the delight of kids of all ages. After biking around Speedway Circle, Town Hall East greeted us with a wonderful assortment of cookies, lemonade and fruit. After a looonnnnngg stretch of rolling hills, we were grateful for a rest at the Botanical Gardens and Arboretum, where Cristi Green told us a little about the past and future of the gardens. Then it was back to Caswell Park for pizza! Thanks to the City of Knoxville, the Knoxville Zoo, Town Hall East, the Knoxville Botanical Gardens and Arboretum, and the Pizza Palace. And thanks to all the volunteers, including our local bike shops! If you want to receive notices about future bike rides and events, send an email Kelley Segars or call 215-3815.
