Bicycle/Pedestrian Counts
We completed the first bicycle/pedestrian counts in Knoxville at 5 locations in October 2005. Counts are conducted twice a year, in spring and fall. View the counts >>

Safe Routes to School
We are working with the Knox County Health Department to promote Safe Routes to School to get more kids walking and biking to school.

Smart Trips
Our Smart Trips commuter incentives program has been extremely successful, with more than 25 participating worksites currently. It promotes all kinds of alternative transportation, but bicycling is becoming a more popular choice. This program allows us to communicate with many bicycle commuters, and talk to them about forming a Bicycle Users Group at their worksite.

Smart Trips held a commuter bike essay contest last fall. We gave away a new bike, and lots of great runner up prizes. Harper’s Bike Shop donated a significant portion of the prizes. Some of the essays are on the Smart Trips website.
